Longview has long been an important transportation hub with exceptional access to water, rail and the highway system. But what makes Longview truly special are the hard-working, dedicated people that call it home.Since the 1850s, Cowlitz County has attracted generations of families to live and work along the banks of the Columbia River.
Millennium’s heavy industrial site gives us the capability to operate an import-export facility that efficiently serves industries located in both Washington state and Asia – our state’s top trading region. Existing and planned infrastructure includes deep-water port access and docking capacity for large-scale freight vessels.Longview’s prime location, dedicated work force and close-knit community make it the best possible place for Millennium’s operations. We want to do our part by providing the region with good family-wage jobs and needed tax revenue for years to come, but even more importantly, we want to give back to the Longview community for their tremendous support over the past seven years.
At Millennium, we have learned that we’re stronger when we work together. To that end, Millennium works with over 50 organizations to help our community thrive.
One organization holds a special place in the hearts of our team as we have worked with them since our inception in 2011. We are honored to support the Highlands Neighborhood Association (HNA). This past summer, the Millennium team won a grant from the RCF Foundation to present Donna Belt, HNA Executive Director, with a $10,038 donation to upgrade and improve the Highlands Community Center, including the replacement of the roof and gutters. We’re especially proud to report that both projects have been completed.
The video below tells the story of this incredible neighborhood and the people devoted to the success and support of its residents.
At Millennium Bulk Terminals-Longview, we know fulfilling the remarkable potential for our facility requires careful planning, hard work and a commitment to community. Our objective is to provide a responsible, productive and prosperous global port facility here on the Columbia River.

EXAMPLES OF HOW WE
SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY
Furniture Donations: Previous owners of the Millennium site had amassed several warehouses full of furniture and household goods. Millennium employees organized the furniture and supplies and donated them to local veterans’ groups, community groups, and women’s shelters.
Education: Millennium believes that education holds the power to significantly change our community for the better. With diverse fundraising events, academic scholarships and educational outreach programs for six schools, Millennium invests in the next generation of community leaders and employees at our site.
Day of Caring: Millennium and other local organizations teamed up with United Way to bring a Day of Caring to Cowlitz County. Teams of our employees volunteered at local non-profit agencies to complete projects that had previously been understaffed or under-resourced.
Holiday Donations: Millennium joins forces with the Highlands Neighborhood Association throughout the holidays by helping to provide Thanksgiving dinner to families in need. A month later, our participants in the Adopt-a-family campaign match struggling families with a donor who provides gifts for the household during the holidays.
