Since 2011, Millennium has removed more than 200,000 tons of industrial material from its Longview, WA site – recycling more than two-thirds of it. We have conducted this removal without incident by prioritizing the safety of our employees and the environment. We will remain committed to these principles throughout this site’s redevelopment.
The Washington Department of Ecology is required by law to find a long-term solution that balances the costs of various cleanup options with desired environmental outcomes. The agency is recommending an option known as “Alternative 4” which would clean the site as well as similar aluminum smelter sites on the Columbia River. Ecology is now turning to the public for comments on its recommendation.
Millennium is grateful for the strong support it receives from people like you. If you want to see the old Reynolds site cleaned up and available for future economic activity, please voice your support of Alternative 4. We are proud of the work we have done so far, and we look forward to continuing our role in the cleanup process.
