dixiespecialolympicsLast weekend, Millennium Transportation Manager Dixie Bailey raised money for the Special Olympics by entering the Pacific Rim One Day Run, a 24 hour distance challenge around Longview’s scenic Lake Sacagawea. Several other Millennium employees, including her husband Ken Bailey, set up a supporter tent to cheer Dixie on as she completed circuit after circuit, totaling a whopping 47 miles. While the race itself was a competitive event, Dixie decided to use it as an opportunity to raise money for a good cause. Each mile she ran generated sponsored donations that went to the Special Olympics. Her efforts raised hundreds in donations from friends and sponsors, including Millennium, whose logoed tee-shirt Dixie sported throughout her run.

“It’s so great to be out here with friends and family. Their support really motivates you to keep pushing,” said Dixie. “My husband and I have been longtime residents of Longview and it has been wonderful to be a part of a community where everyone, right on up to the people you work for, is invested in giving back.”
